The President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the virtual Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations held at the premises of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in Accra, announced Mr. Ben Abdallah Banda as the Coordinator of the Zongo and Inner-City Development Secretariat under the Office of the President.

According to the president, the Ministry of Inner-City and Zongo Development has been brought under his watch with the Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia superintending over all its activities.

He said this ensures the Zongo communities across the country are given the needed attention they deserve.

He further asked the Muslim communities not to fall for the propaganda being put out there by some elements of the main opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) that the NPP government has given up on the Zongo Development agenda.

The Zongo Ministry was a tailor-made Ministry established in 2017 by the government to bridge the development gaps between the Zongos and the urban areas in the countries.
