The Minister for Inner-City and Zong Development, Dr Mustapha Adul-Hamid has handed over a refurbished office complex, situated in the premises of the Abossey Okai Central Mosque in the Greater Accra Region to the National Council of Zongo Chiefs.
The Minister on his part explained this was upon a request made by the council, which stated some of the challenges they are faced with was due to the absence of such a facility.
The building, constructed by the Islamic Council for Development and Humanitarian Services (ICODEHS) and now furnished by the Ministry of Inner City and Zongo Development, the facility currently houses three offices, two conference rooms, together with auxiliary facilities.
The facility will aid in the operational activities of the council and also serve as an Information Center for the community.
Present at the brief ceremony to hand over the facility were executives of the Council; Chief Siddiq Gimala (Chairman), Chief Hamisu Baako, Second Vice- Chairman, Chief Abubakar Umar, Third Vice- Chairman, Chief Imoru Baba Issah, Public Relations Officer, Chief Is-hak Suleman, General Secretary.
Others are Chief Zakari Sofo, Chairman of Elders, Chief Zakari Kuta, Assistant General Secretary, Chief Ibrahim Bawa Elder, Chief Sheriff Adam, Member, Chief Otunba Buniyamin Brimah, Assistant General Secretary, Chief Iddrisu Bingle, Member, Chief Musah Yandu, Member.
