Officials from the Ministry of Inner -City and Zongo Development (MICZD) last Tuesday,, April 14, continued with the distribution of uncooked food item to residents of Tudu, Aplaku Zongo, Ablekuma, Joma and Abbossey Okai Zongo communities all in the Greater Accra Region.
Others were Kasoa-Nyanyano and Tuba in the Central Region.
The food distribution exercises to the above mentioned Zongo communities as part of President Akufo-Addo's intervention to ameliorate the negative effects of the lockdown on the vulnerable citizens in the wake of the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus.
The Ministry’s decision to share the uncooked food stem from ensuring that vulnerable people living in the Zongo and inner-city communities stay home to enable the government to contain the spread of the deadly COVID-19 disease.
The food items distributed were made up of Rice, Maize, Beans, Eggs, cooking oil, Sardine and Gari, a local staple food made from Cassava.
