The Zongo Development Fund (ZoDF) has urged the Zongo indigenes of Kasoa to stay at home to avoid contracting the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.
The Chief Executive Officer of ZoDF, an agency under the Ministry of Inner-City and Zongo Development (MIZCD), Arafat Sulemana Abdulai made this call when the fund in collaboration with Qatar Charity, a Non-Governmental Organization distributed detergents, disinfectants and hand sanitizers to the people of Kasoa in the Central Region.
The CEO was joined by the sector Minister, Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, Board Chairman of ZoDF, Real Admiral Muniru Tahiru(Rtd) and officials from the Ministry.
According to the CEO, the best medicine to fight the Coronavirus pandemic is to observe the hygiene protocols and stay at home.
He further urged them to thoroughly wash their hands with soap under running water and sanitize their hands when the need be.
'We need you to stay home for us to supply you with the needed amenities for you to be able to stay home to enable the country to contain the spread of the deadly COVID-19 disease as directed by the His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ’ he said.
The sector Minister on his part gave the assurance that the items will be duly distributed in the lockdown period to save lives in the Zongo communities across the country.
In a remark, the Director of Operations at Qatar Charity, Dr Hafiz Mohammed Amadu gave the assurance that his NGO will continue to collaborate with the fund to cater for the needs of the vulnerable in the Zongo communities.
